WHO WE ARE
Revive Wellington, formerly Wellington Christian Revival Centre, has been in Wellington for over sixty years. It has a stable history going right back to the roots of the Pentecostal movement. We were birthed out of the Smith Wigglesworth revival in the 1920s. That visit by Smith Wigglesworth impacted many people across New Zealand and pentecostal churches were birthed as a result, as were we. You can see the plaque in our back hall commemorating the first place where the full gospel was preached and demonstrated in New Zealand.
Our church consists of a broad range of cultures and age groups, it reflects the changing nature of New Zealand culture and community. We enjoy a healthy growing church made up of passionate and committed people making up this vibrant community.
Revive Wellington is a member of the Revive Churches NZ movement.
OUR VISION
Revive is not just our name; it is our vision - to revive God’s people to pursue Jesus. We reach the lost, raise disciples and release people into the callings God has placed on their lives.
We help people know God by reaching the lost with the good news of Jesus. Jesus made it clear that as disciples our primary mission is to reach people with the Gospel.
REACH
We help people find freedom by becoming disciples. Raising disciples to, “become by grace what Christ is by nature”. Another priority of the church is to provide opportunities for personal spiritual growth. Discipleship is being followers of Jesus and everything he empowers us to become.
rAISE
We help people discover and live their purpose; releasing people into their ministry where God has gifted and called them.
RELEASE
oUR VALUES
1.We Dream Big & Step Out in Faith
We believe in a limitless God. So we won’t settle for small dreams or safe plans. We move forward building community with bold faith and courageous obedience.
2.We Lead with Generosity
We live open-handed. We give joyfully, generously, and sacrificially - because it’s more blessed to give than to receive.
3.We Bring Our Best
We bring excellence to everything we do - not for applause, but because it honours God and inspires people.
4.We Live with Integrity
We choose character over comfort, and truth over convenience. Integrity isn’t optional, it’s essential.
5.We Sacrifice with Joy
We willingly give up what we love for what we love even more. It's an honour to serve Christ and His Church with everything we have.
6.We’ll Do Anything (Short of Sin)
Reaching people far from God is worth everything. If we want to reach people no one else is reaching, we must do things no one else is doing.
7.We Are Contributors, Not Consumers
The church doesn’t exist for us - we are the Church, and we exist for the world. We are here to serve, not be served. Serving God is a joy. We laugh hard, love deeply, and do life together with joy and passion.
